Hi Tinker. A loaded round has a .535" neck diameter(.510" bullet) A fired case measure .537" -//- The RCBS full length sizing die sqeezes the caseneck down to .508" which is smaller than the actual bullet. Then one can subtract the casewall which again leaves whatever is left to the bullet. The Bertram cases I have which didnīt fit the gun has a .655" casehead diameter. The casehead in my gun must be .642" in order to fit. This more or less confirm Bertram has used standard .577 Express to make .577/500 Magnum cases. |
