...thanks for the background, spring... ...i saw the engraved 455 that you are referring to at last year's sci convention...beautifully made and embellished, but somewhat unwieldy, imho, when compared to, say, a london best or even a 'working' continental double such as a krieghoff...also, i heard that once the gun is purchased from the galleries, its resale value, even if never shot, is at most one-half the original purchase cost, and that this is especially the case with the eell engraved models...of course this is no reflection on the gun itself, rather, merely the perceived 'collectors' market' value (similar to the argument used in the case of high end sports cars, i would suppose)... ...looks like you had a great duck hunt...beretta offers an extra set of smooth bores for their doubles, although i was disappointed when i went that route... ...again, good shooting/hunting... te |
