Hey guys, Virginia and spring suits me too! I seem to be fairly central. Bonanza is something on the order of 4 1/2 hours south, and Chasseur and clark7781 are about 3 1/2 hours north. There is a dandy shooting range in Bath County between Warm Springs and Millboro that is almost always idle. It is an amenity of the George Washington National Forest and lies in a really pretty and remote area. That might just be our best location. It is about 40 minutes west of Lexington on Route 39. The shooting positions are covered and the range extends to 100 yards. It's a fine place to shoot and costs nothing at all. It just stands there open to the public. I have been there numerous times and I think only once was anybody else there. There's also a GW Nat. Forest range about 1 1/2 miles from where I live, just off Exit 21 of I-64. It gets steady use. My friend has a private range that might be available too. Just making suggestions. Regards, Curl |
