Clark, I found that for the .50 caliber you can do best by shopping among the muzzle-loading supplies. The jags and brushes are the right fit. I first bought one of the nylon rods. It works fine. Later I got fancy and bought a Dewey rod designed for muzzle-loaders. It takes the larger screw size of the ML brushes and jags and also has an adaptor to fit the smaller brushes such as .30 and .375. I bought the Dewey rod and some of the brushes and jags at Green Top in Ashland. The nylon rod I bought right here in western VA. If you want to spend a bundle, you can buy a rosewood rod from Galazan or Brownell's. It won't do a bit better job. Regards, CptCurl |
