Thanks John, following the stage you've set: I'm one of those new guys (despite being a member for several years) whos hunted very little, a couple foxes, a couple cats, a few roos, about a thousand pigeons and a few hundred rats When i first joined I was just some 18 year old punk dreamin' big. Plenty of great answers, even though i never put any to practice in the end. This forum is the inspiration to getting my first big bore, even if it was just a Zastava in .458 Win Mag, there's still a heck of a discussion thread even though its not a "classic" rifle, or worth several thousand. I love when the people who own those expensive guns post the other things they have tucked away in the safe, the ones they carry often that are generic things, Remingtons in .308 and the like. It's also the inspiration to my now moving into the vintage arms, the first being a .450 Nitro bolt action by Cogswell and Harrison (Certus). So i can say "screw you guys" for making me poorer, but it's been fun! Another thing i'll say, even though its off topic, is that none of you guys post or act in an intimidating fashion to new people, or those inexperienced. We don't seem to get people who get the answer and go "No, i want this answer instead.". Don't know why, might say something about the people here attracts. As John said, good work guys. All give yaselves a pat on the back. PS: There also seems to be a lot of trust on the forum amoungst members, taking orders without money up front etc at personal financial risk (Thinking of you, John, with the book orders, thanks for those). |
