It happens on all forums but on different topics.

I remember one forum full of newbies. One guy joined and was asking the most basic questions - What do you think of this .22? Where can I shoot rabbits? What's the first centrefire I should get?

Six months later, he was answering questions and giving advice on buffalo rifles and calibres, water buffalo hunting etc. All without actually hunted more than a couple goats ...

NE is fantastic because we have such knowledgeable members, experienced people in some many different areas, numerous gunmakers including people from the big name firms, hunters amateur and professional who have hunted almost everything on Earth.

It sometimes intimidates new guys but I hope they are treated kindly always. I find it hard to go to some forums due to the sorts of answers people get there, either arrogant, or ignorant.
