I have a number of firearms; they are of varied types. I do not have any that I would not use/fire. I may have imagined a tone in your post that was unintended; if so, let me apologize.

I hunt and use many firearms for recreation. They show honest wear. When going to the range or on a hunt, I do not drag them behind the truck. I am sure that while you use your guns, you also maintain them. Preventive maint. is what I was referring to in my post. You. sir, did not answer the question.
