I own guns to use them, and they go out in the rain and mud, they get scratched, and the stocks get dinged. For me it's not a lot of fun to have a gun at home in the safe or being worried about wear and tear. My double has been rained on, scratched, and covered with dust. And it will be again. On the metal I use a white gun grease (forgot the name at the moment). On wood repeatedly rained on, depending on the original finish, I touch up with a light amount of linspeed oil. That is not compatible with all stock finishes, however. |
