I hunt deer with my double rifles and feel they are fully adequate to the task. In fact, the last deer I killed was with a double .300 across a harvested corn field. One shot through the heart at a measured 265 yards. My .300 sports a 1.5-5 scope and will put four shots - 2 rights and 2 lefts, into 1 1/4" at 100 yards, every time. That's good enough accuracy in Virginia. I don't know what a deer hunter might need in Michigan! I ain't throwing my DR's away, neither. Cheers, CptCurl |
