I think I remember the thread you are referring to, and If I am not mistaken the slings were from Westley Richards' website.

I have been really pleased with slings made by Riserva, which are linen and leather. I first found these products at the Antique Arm Show in Las Vegas two or three years ago. You can get them at this website:

Note: the slings I bought were made for European swivels and are about 3/4" wide. They are perfect for German or Austrian rifles. If you have 1" swivels on your rifle make sure they have 1" slings.

The one I particularly like is #R6028, which you will find on the second webpage of the shotgun slings on that website. Again, the attachment is 3/4".
