Well having read the whole topic now and based on what I have seen used on North American game, including black bear, deer, caribou, sheep, elk, moose and big bears........... the 9.3x74R would be my pick. I have had a chance to play with a couple of them owned by hunters I guided and they are quite light and handy when compared to many of the bigger DR's. Recoil is a piece of cake.
I would love to own one.
