Well, if a 255gr. at 1,850fps, or 220gr. at 1,950 (my very effective moose load) is good enough, then I'd simply go with the .38/55.
If the big bears were on the list, then the .405 would get the nod even though it is way overgunned for the lesser species, ihmo.
