Quote: I've chatted to Stuart Anderson Wheeler a couple of times on the phone and they make a small number of double rifles per year. They have been in business for about nine years so while not a long time, long enough that they are established. Would be good to hear from any owners about their rifles, but I would guess more will be around in the future considering the exposure of the rifle in the Bond movie. Reportedly rifles from Holland & Holland, Purdey and Anderson Wheeler were considered and Anderson Wheeler won the sale. The rifle is now owned in the personal collection of the Producer (or Director) I believe. The use of a British DR in the movie will no doubt benefit the sales of lots of other brands of DR as well, I would think. |
