Hey gang,

Picked my new Chapuis 470 last weekend and have really been going over it. What a massive hunk of gun (11 lbs), makes my merkel .375 double look petite. I really like the locking system, looks like it will last forever. The action is very tight and is hard to open and close. It should loosen up over time. I have greased the metal to metal parts of course! I have the upgraded AAA wood which is beautiful. Metal to wood and metal to metal is superb, I'd have a difficult time understanding what a gun maker could do to improve on it. Which begs the question - why are the English guns so much more expensive?

The test target had a group .82" and slightly high at 50m. I have components on order and will report on how it shoots shortly
