Daryl_S, I elected to have him purchase back the original gun as well. When I looked at the mating surfaces on the "new" barrels and mono-block and considered that he had worked up regulating loads I didn't want to run the risk in the future. Knowing my luck I could see me sending someone else the gun only to be informed that it had been compromised and was therefore no longer suitable. I will have to find another donor gun should I decide to pursue another conversion but I can live with that additional hassle. The agreed upon refund covers the money I gave him for the conversion and the cost to purchase the same rifle new. Eric |
