I wondered about the 500yd leaf on my 470 but then decided that if I was out on the veldt between the wars and met a group of people who wished me harm, then being able to lob 500gn projectiles at about the right elevation and in around the right direction might be very useful.

Considering the poaching problem in some areas it could still be useful today.
