I've made a decision on calibre for this second double rifle, subject to there being no surprises when I revisit the Heym factory next month.
I'm going with the .375 Flanged Magnum.
Reasons? Quite a few. None of them substantial but combined they tip the balance.
1 - A little faster than the 9.3x74R making it a touch flatter shooting. 2 - Good bullet choice for reloading. 3 - It could be used in Africa for tough stuff, if required. 4 - I really want a gun in this calibre
I think that's about it
Very good decision.
It will be really handy as a second rifle in Africa in such places such as Tanzania where a smaller calibre may not be strictly legal.
And a classic Nitro Express cartridge too. Again well done.
Looking forward to seeing your rifles when you get them. Please post photos.
Is the .375 going to be another Holland & Holland? Or?
