I used to feel also that 9.3 was "close enough on paper" to the 375FM. However after actually using a 375FM I feel has some real advantages (and a few disadvantages). The felt recoil (for me and very subjective) was less with the 375FM and although the 9.3 is not bad this is even more pleasant, while at the same time giving you a bigger/heavier bullet and more energy. Ammo and cases for the 375FM are available through a number of sources with both Norma and Nosler having recently added it. I have also spoke to Hornady and tried to put a bug in their ear about also adding it to their list of offerings. The current downside is that the guns are more expensive than many of the production 9.3's. The ammo, brass and dies are also not as common as the 9.3 at this time. At one time I had 5 different 9.3's in my personal collection, now down to two guns in 9.3 and plan to only have one when finished downsizing. |
