Went shooting my .577 BPE today. Yee Haw! 4 rounds was enough. Got all the old men out there excited to see a true big-bore double in action. I wanted to get some trigger time in the standing position - as it's the only way to properly shoot one I've come to observe. Accurace is highly dependent on your stance and controlling recoil. To much recoil and your 8 inches high, not enough and you are 8 inches low. Also if your muzzle is low, level or high can really throw you off. 30 - 40 yards and holding level or slight low (like shooting a tiger from your elephant) is ideal. 50+ yards begins to push the limits unless you have an exceptionally fine rifle. |
