I suspect Denys Finch-Hatton looked nothing like Robert redford - I handled a Mannlicher 6.5x54 of his, in fact, i had it at home for a couple of weeks. The LOP was about 16.5" and it had, from recollection, quite bizarre peep and open sights. I was nicely presented in the original monogrammed case with some early transport labels but was about 5 times the going rate for a Mannlicher and this was just after "Out of Africa" came out. I thought that the value would drop when the excitement over the movie waned but I still think about it and regret not spending the 14k.

I heard it ended up in the US.
