Re: Double rifles in the movies

Saw a documentary about Laslo Amishy [who the movie ''The English Patient'' was loosely based on !.He was Hungarian ? adventurer and travelled through the sahara and africa in steyr light trucks 2wd with drop side tray backs .they went hunting in India also .Showed footage of elephant and buffalo they had shot with double rifle and mannlicher schoenaur .Which they said the elephant were as ''plentiful as the sand ''we wish !interesting to see them with a ute load of game they had shot ,[reminds me of roo shooting in Australia ,and pulling the dead roos off the back of the truck] this was all of course back in the good old days when hunting was a perfectly acceptable pastime ,unlike today where it is classed as a bloodsport ,which it is NOT !!
