I am looking for photos of the forend catch on a Jeffery double rifle similar to mine. Why? Because mine fell off when I last used the rifle earlier this year and I lost it. The catch is the type which is located at the front of the forend. The bit that is missing is the decorative sort of triangular fitting that surrounds the 'button' that is depressed to remove the forend. I know several members, current or past, have a similar rifle. Could you please take some good photos of the catch so I can supply it to a gunsmith to make me a replica? Thanks. I can draw one from memory pretty well, but photos would be a plus. I will post a photo of the forend as well. My WJ Jeffery is a boxlock model, .450 No.2 NE which the slight engravings of a Gaur in the locks. I have seen similar on other members photos. The .450/400 models with a leopard on the locks I think have the same catch as well. Thanks for any help. |
