Quote: First off Nitro is correct! Placing a double rifle directly in contact with the sticks, or a padded saddle in the set of sticks will either retard or exacerbate the natural recoil movement of the barrels, and to some extent change regulation! The padded saddle in the set pictured below, is a very well made saddle cushion but would do something I don’t like! It would be comfortable for your hand under the rifles for-end wood, but would have to be removed before the sticks could be closed for carry! I have a set of bamboo sticks that I made but I don’t have a way to post a picture of them on the website! I’ll try to describe them if I can here! The sticks’ two legs that spread out left and right are about 10 inches longer than the leg that flips out in front! This extra length of the two rt & lft legs is above the APEX of the three legs with the top of the front leg sticking only about 1 ½ inch above the APEX while the tops of the side legs extend about 9 inches higher. I have a leather sling hooked to the top of these two legs, and it is made from a wide waist belt, and is not thick, and doesn’t interfere with the sticks folding for carry, yet makes a wide rest for your hand between the tops of the two side legs. I hope that is at least as clear as muddy water! |
