A double with 24" barrels is still quite a compact rifle yet will allow a comfortable velocity of around 2350fps with the standard 286grn load.
This can be an advantage if shooting within the 200 to 300m range.
If all your shooting was taking place amongst the thickets and within 200m then the shorter barrels might be an advantage for ease of handling and travel.
