I was at the gunshop yesterday and they had some 5 round boxes of old Kynoch 470 ammo - most were the usual soft point but one box (which I bought for $A10) was labelled "Split" and proved to be softpoint ammo with a series of longitudinal split in the jacket from the start of the ogive to just short of the exposed lead tip. Would I be right in thinking that these were like "lion loads" - designed to expand more rapidly than the usual softpoints? Does anyone have any history on these? mike |
