Interesting - we're so tuned to there being at least one intermediate person ro business increasing the 'presented' cost and making money off every sale - of everything, we automatically think that way. That's not good that this is an automatic response. It's the asumption that opens the door and keeps it open to the middleman.

Yes - I understand that the gun auctions are designed that way, different from a straight foreward consignment sale where the consignee pays the person/business selling the goods.
