On your sighting interests, have you considered a red-dot?
There are some very very nice very high quality miniature (they fit on the rear of 1911 slides) red dot sighting systems available these days. A few of our members have been using them on big-bore dangerous game double rifles and fast-shooting driven game double rifles for hunting boar etc.

You can set them low on the barrel, in the express sight dovetail. The low height and forward mounting keep the instinctual pointing and aiming of the double rifle, and the miniature size and light weight tend to not affect regulation at all.

Think on that.
