The original (700 Nitro) might have been an ego exercise but future purchasers, as has been said, do we really need 500's, 600's, 700's ?

Probably not but it's nice owning them.

And I think if you can afford to buy a 700, the cost of shooting is the least of your worries.

I am not a fan of certain calibres, 8mm's, 416 (I'm a 404 fan

), Ex Mil calibres, but that's just my personal preference, nothing more, nothing less. Doesn't mean those that own them are in the wrong, just have a different area of interest.
