I believe it was a partnership started back in the mid 80's between an American and an Indonesian . The Indonesian was from a rich family and he was the money behind it. They built the second ever 700 NE, right after the Holland.

I think they bought parts and assembled them, doing the fit and finish at their shop. Both gentlemen were knowledgeable about Doubles but neither was a gunsmith.

They built at least four 700 NE and at least one 4 Bore and one 8 Bore. I do not know how many other rifles, if any they made.

the Company name was Wilkins although I can't vouch for the name JL in my ramblings.

Long gone now I think.
