If you get altitude sickness looking at a V-C, then your question is answered. Get a good condition Merkel on the used market. I prefer the .500NE but the .470NE is more commonly found. You can buy these rifles on the used market for bargain prices. They are truly good rifles. The represent the best buy monetarily, and you aren't compromising function.
