Re: Docter Optic red dot sight on a double

I've got a Burris Fastfire 2 Red Dot Sight on my Westley Richards 450/400. My eyes started failing and I still needed to use my double so I opted for the red dot sight. Not wanting to spend to much money on the Doctor Optik sight (it is very expensive here in South Africa) I went with the cheaper Burris option to first determine whether it would work for me. Well, I can tell you it has changed the way I hunt. It works perfectly, at 60m both 2 shots from each barrel shoot inside of 1". The rifle was always slightly high for me so with the new sight installed, it works to my benefit. The installation was interesting: the locking screw removed and the existing sights can be removed. Two 't' plates are installed from either side with 2 allen screws to fit perfectly over the existing rib. The piccaninni Burris then gets installed on that. I do have pictures but don't know how to post. In a matter of seconds I can installed either the new sight or the original, and it zeros every time. A buffalo has since fallen to this rifle.
Regards,
Charl
