Agree it will give it more ooommmmmphhhhh..
But in my opinion...doesnt need it...from with a oooommmmmphhh or penetraion standpoint..

In the game I have shot with my .416 Rem..going from duiker to elephant..stoppage and penetration has never been an issue..the ele i shot..the bullet..barnes solid..angles from above the right eye and come out behind the left ear...hit a smaller tree..went through that and kept going..dont really see where more penetration would be needed..

If I were to get another older English Best double it would be a 500 Nitro..but in the newer ones..the 500/416 would be my choice provided all the info is correct and you can get 2400 plus with safe pressures ...

I reloaded my 416 Rem. with 400 gr A-FRAMES and chrono'd them at 2435 fps...was getting around the same with the Barnes solids...

I am headed back next spring..after a bull ele this time...whle I will have to take the .470 double..the 416 will also be coming along...shoots flat..hits like the hammer of Thor and recoil is mellow IMHO, for a caliber in that class..
