i have a 700 nitro on order it is a butch searcy presidental grade box lock underlever double rifle

i bought this gun with the sole intention of using it for elephant hunting and also cape buffalo.

the recoil isnt as bad as one would think its a heavy push but not a sharp jab and with practice most people with big bore exp can lean to shoot both barrels quite quickly.

the load i am using will shoot a 1000 grn woodleigh bullet at just over 2000 fps out of my 25" barrels for some real hitting power

also factory ammo is 100$ a pop but i can reload it for less than half that price the big cost is the brass but once you have the brass you are set for a long time at you can easly get 10 shots out of each peice of brass.

if any one has more questions about the 700 ill try and answer them or ill point you in the right direction as im still learning my self

as far as lack of penetration thats horse feathers i know of a guy who shot a elephant with the 700 at 25 yards with a frontal brain shot the bullet had a toatle penatration of 9 feet 1 shot and the animal was crushed so hard it rocked back onto its butt.
