Carpediem, I'm not sure how the Nosler Accubond is constructed? Does it have a solid base? Be careful of using any bullets with a solid shank or partition etc, and definitely be wary of using monometal bullets in a double rifle. From memory I think the accubonds are just the normal jacketed bullet construction so OK. If I had your rifle, I would forget about the 232 gr loads, and see if a 286 gr or 320 gr load can be made up which shoots accurately and regulates in your rifle. a much more useful round, the 286 grainers, for deer, bear, moose, boar etc. If you can't get a 286 gr to work, duplicating the 232 gr load would still be possible and would probably work well on lighter deer species, and maybe boar. I think it is silly they regulate the 9.3s for anything other than a 286 grainer. JMO. As for mounts, what sort of mounts does Merkel sell, and do their mounts fit this sort of rifle? I would start there, otherwise as suggested there are always other custom options. Sounds like you have a fun rifle, and will enjoy it a lot. The 9.3 is such a versatile rifle, and with a recoil pad, you will find it easy to shoot. |
