For whatever it is worth, if you do decide on a Sabatti, it being more of a production line rifle, the manufacturer utilizes the same frame for calibers .375-.500. AT 10.5 lbs or so I think the gun is a bit light for .500 NE, which is one of the reasons I went with the .470. Or you could buy the .500 and add weight, but possibly effecting the balance adversely. IMHO a very nice double for the price. As others have noted the shortcoming is the recoil pad, which I have supplemented for now with a slip-on KICK-EEZ, much more comfortable for repeated shooting at the range, without adding too much to the LOP. |
