The O/U has to be broken open farther (wider) and there is a much greater chance of the ejectors, or the extractors if you rotate, allowing the bottom case to hit the standing breech and bounce back into the chamber

Mick, if a cartridge hits the standing breach when you break an ejector gun, regardless of whether it is O/U or SxS, the ejector timing is out.
