Raimey, and others: Quote: I can't answer as to German practice, but I certainly can point to a 1937 British example, a .303 double rifle, for which the proof load was the standard Mk VII round (cordite 37 gr. - 174 gr. bullet) BUT the regulation load was for the old 215 grain bullet (Mk III) round, more popular for sporting purposes.
