Re: Engraving

Well hell, I wasn't going to take the time to post anything further, but why not, perhaps it will give some insight to my appraoch.

I've had people critisize my work numerous tmes. Face to face and on other forums. Some I take as constructive and I appreciate hearing it. For someone to put themselves in the potentialy comprosmising position of offering constructive critisim fr the purpose of allowing to grow and improve is a blessing. On the other hand, if someone is simply critical with the intent of self gratification, I let the words float away like smoke.

Roland's work is top shelf. I enjoy seeing it and like even more that he is so willing to share his process and techniques.

I like my own work, but can't ever remember being satisfied that I couldn't have done better. The rifle I posted pictures of is my own rifle, and I enjoy it a great deal. The deep relief sculpted engraving is my favorite for several reasons, and now I own a rifle made to fit me and my tastes.

At any rate, I am not discouraged to post my work here, and I am sure Roland isn't either.

Just to prove it, here are a couple of knives I made and engraved a couple of years ago, hope you enjoy them.
