The one with the crocodile case was probably the former property of the Maharajah of Alwar, who, I believe, was such a devout Hindu that he would not allow himself to come in contact with any product made from a cow, such as leather. I once owned one of his former possessions, complete with crocodile case, and that was the explanation I got from Mr. McElvey, who was the store manager at H&H in those days. |
