As to recoil between the 470 and 450-400 thats nothing much to quible about...Simply load the 470 down to 2000 FPS and it recoils about like a 450-400, but it still kills a lot better...I have used them both on big game in Africa and I finally settled on a .470 by Searcy and darn glad I did, its the best shooting double I have ever owned and it shoots about everything to the same POI....
