One needs to shoot the .470 BEFORE buying one, only on the internet can everyone handle the fierce recoil of the 470..the 450-400 is worlds milder in recoil and will kill anything that you shoot with it..

I did. There was no way I was going to put up with that punishment just to own and shoot a double. I went with the 375 H&H and it's a joy to shoot. However, I wish the 450/400 was available in a new merkel.
