I currently own six Heym doubles (that I can think of off the top of my head). I have owned countless others. I own one Verney-Carron, will be taking delivery of a bespoke .500 this Tuesday and have ordered a bespoke .577 which I hope to see by years end. The Heym's are wonderful guns and so are the Verney-Carron's. IMHO, the Verney-Carron's feel better and recoil less. The new Heym's cost a hell of alot more which IMHO is hard to justify. Thus, for a working gun, I'll take the Verney-Carron. This comes from one who has owned and shot both quite a bit. I might also suggest attending the Vintage Cup in September and see the results of the DR competitions. The results with the V-C guns are most impressive. Other than that, we must agree to disagree.
