here goes ............ Hi Bob, thanks for the email, the only matter I understand which holds ground is the .50 cal. I believe it started in SA at COAG in relation to .50 cal only, making them a restricted calibre, being you had to be a SSAA Member, a Sub Branch member of the military rifle club, and have access to a suitable range. I heard they were considering .338 lapua mag but nothing has eventuated. As far as the rest is concerned just rumour started somewhere, rememeber the chinese whisper .... In terms of the .338 Lapua being considered, that was a "rumor" only however one would imagine the same policy would apply, a lot of items are discussion points only and never get up.
