Re: Blaser vs. all the rest

Well, dbush2508, it was like this. I didn't break the damn things, they broke themselves. The 500/416 broke the forearm after two shots. Then the right barrel would only feed WR (not Westley Richards) ammo because its rims are thinner (not SAAMI spec). WR ammo is very expensive and very unavailable. Blaser USA said they measured the rim depth and it worked with their ammo, not American ammo. I sent it back to the dealer in trade for a 470. Then the 470 broke the stock at the wrist after we corrected the slight crossing problem of 6 inches at 50 yards. The crossing problem took $400 to correct. Laser regulating doesn't work. The barrels had never been on the action of the 470 and had to be gunsmithed to fit.

The Blaser handles like a piece of iron strapped to a 2x4. Even the Merkel feels better. The idea of cocking via the "safety" was interesting; plus it only took about 20-25 lb of pressure to operate.

I wouldn't trust it to hunt rabbits, to say nothing of Cape Buffalo (one which is hanging on my wall with two 458 Lott holes repaired.)
