I once had some Firestone tires that threw chunks of rubber out of the centre of the tread. I guess that either means that all Firestone tires do that, or maybe all car tires do that. Too - that was 35 years ago, but materials and design doesn't make any difference, does it?
The fact that I was doing "Breakies" at 130 mph in a squad car doesn't matter does it?

Same deal here. Used to be solid mono's. Aren't now. Big difference between banded and smooth.
Perhaps the bullets were oversize to the gun's dimensions - doens't matter, does it?
