That is funny! In Mr. Wieland's book "Dangerous Game Rifles" he give glowing reviews of the california Rigby, and the Merkel doubles but didn't even mention the B. Searcy in that book.

I think in most cases like his hard back book, the editors sometimes cut a lot out to make the book fit a certain length in page count. Editors not being aware of how IMPORTANT

double rifles are, may have cut some double text to make room for some bolt acction. Mr. Wieland may have indeed mentioned the Searcy,because it is a better rifle than the Cal Rigby,especially the leter ones, and had it cut. I haven't read his article in RIFLE yet, but I will, so on that subject I can't say more.
