My Simson .405 has arrived. Checks out to be a pretty nice rifle. The wood's nothing fancy but it's lasted for the last 74 years. Here's some details. Simson double rifle in 405 Winchester. BLNE non auto safety. Some case colors remain. 24“ barrels marked “Long Range” and “Specially made for N. C. Daw. Co” Proofmarks 10.2 mm 65 ˝ Kmg. 19Gr. Made in Nov 1935. 1 standing and 4 folding sights, folding marked from 200 - 500. Front sight has a hood and silver bead. Right bore near perfect, left has some pitting in the grooves. All screw heads are perfect except for the buttplate screws. Greener crossbolt, and disk strikers. Great Red Stag on the trigger plate. 7lbs 13 oz. |
