I am thinking too of getting a .577BPE in either of the chamberlenghts. I can presume however that the 2 3/4" is easier to use smokeless in because it fills the case better rather than a 3 1/4".577cal?.
Was the 2 3/4" .577s not normally regulated with a 560 grain bullet?.
