A friend built me a .45-70 Gov't. double rifle on a 16-gauge Baikal shotgun. I was out of the country at the time and, before I could try the rifle with iron sights... well, I had two different "situations" happen to my shooting eye that required two different types of surgery. The bottom line is, I can see out of my shooting eye, though not well. I may, or may not, be able to get things back in shape with a contact lens. In the meantime, I'm not picking up small things in low-light conditions as well as I used to and I'd like a QD scope option so I could use a scope with a red-dot. For the scope, I've been thinking about the Weaver Extreme with the red-dot center in the crosshair. Can anyone here tell me what options are out there that might be viable for my new DR? I'm hoping there is some base that can be added that would allow for QD rings of some sort.

Now, I saw the picture of this one a man on this forum (Rich) posted a long time back, and I've sent him a PM... but he hasn't posted here since August of 2007, so I don't know if he's around anymore. My gunsmith friend said if I could find this base, he'd see about putting it on. Rich built his doubles on Baikal shotguns, too.
