i think this is a restock, the reason is that as curl points out the sideplate is proud of the stock and also the wood, although very beautyful, not very likely for a double rifle in the late 1890' i see the screw as well and it has nothing to do there. if it is possible to sell rifles at those prices in the us then im missing something here, a rifle in that configuration but in good unfucked condition should would sell at around 14-18K pounds at the sales in london. and one in that condition should go for anywhere from 5-8K pounds. im left baffeled peter |
